CLT Scotland

CLT stands for Central Law Training. It is the leading provider of post qualification legal training. As you would expect the site contains information on the various courses, conferences and distance learning opportunities on offer and information about the company itself. There is also a link to the Scottish Paralegal Association and to Learn Direct Scotland.

CLT UK

As you would expect, this site, for Central Law Training UK, is very similar to the one above. I should perhaps remark that both sites are entirely contained in Macromedia Flash sites which may take a while to load up on slower connections.

CPD Direct

CPD Direct is the product of a joint venture by Butterworths LexisNexis direct and SEMPLE PIGGOT ROCHEZ. There are a wide range of CPD accredited online multi-media courses available. I am not sure if the courses really apply to Scotland and hope to find this out shortly.

Law Society of Scotland

The Law Society of Scotland has a number of Update Courses, many of which qualify for CPD hours, as well as an uptodate News section on its site. There is an online directory of Law Firms in Scotland and you can also find information about Solicitors and Accredited Specialists on the site too. There are password protected areas for Solicitors and Students as well. I have also collected a selection of links related to Professional Ethics on An A to Z of the Law of Scotland.

The Legal Practitioner

All of The Legal Practitioner products are accredited by the Law Society, the General Council of the Bar, and the Institute of Legal Executives.
