Comments... An unusual approach in that the opening page is not about the firm as such, but presents legal information on current topics such as the Mortgage Rights (Scotland) Act. There is a large amount of current information referenced on this main page which gives an impression of a very up to date firm. There is a good "zone" on "heading for the Border" to tempt English firms into using their services and which includes a glossary of legal terms relating to commercial property and the ability to order a printed cross-border guide. There is a facility for clients to access the progress of their cases called WebLex, apparently developed in-house. Other "zones" include Insurance, Lending, Commercial and Private Client, all with a considerable amount of up to date material. The lending and private client zones were particularly good. The site has a very good update bulletin which you can subscribe to and get regular updates of new legal developments. Kevin thought the design was good but a little crowded; Delia thought it was really good. You could spend an hour looking at this site and still be finding new and interesting material.

The Tours are also published along with a much more detailed commentary in the Internet Newsletter for Lawyers which has been awarded Best Legal Journal for 2001 by the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL). The newsletter features articles and stories from lawyers in the UK on topical issues affecting the legal internet and the information technology world. To find out how to subscribe, click here.
