Scottish Law Online Site Statistics
Site Statistics:
Never really available before but after a short visit to the
local casino I decided it was time to buy the service instead
of using free providers.

The Hits Received should be ignored - they
refer to every file sent from the server so include all the
images, frames and other html files. You can increase this
easily by adding loads of tiny pictures to your site. The
new site has significantly fewer pictures than before so hopefully
this number will decrease.
Personally, I am trying to reduce the number of page views
and this accordingly should also be ignored. Why am I trying
to reduce it? I want people to be able to find the information
they are looking for quickly and without going through numerous
other pages first. It is possible to artificially increase
pages viewed and much is also dependent upon how well a site
is structured.
Visits are the number of visitors (roughly) in a month which
personally, I find more reflective on a site's popularity.
Before moving to this method, I used both Extreme
Tracking and Addfreestats
for my free statistics. Both were very good but as Scottish
Law Online has increased so significantly in poularity over
the last two years, I have decided to move on.
For a comparison, users should see the Site
Statistics for Delia Venables' Legal Resources site. Note
that the number of hits are close to those in 1999 on her
site. In two years time, Scottish Law Online may very well
be on a par. (Hopefully)
